Sara Stanley is the daughter of Ruth King and Blair Stanley. She is sent to live with her mother's relatives in Avonlea by her father, in order to protect her from a scandal involving his business. She is accompanied by her nanny, Louisa Banks. At first, Sara hates living on the island - but she eventually gets used to it as she makes friends and settles in to her new home.
