Rudy Blaine was a musician and the husband of Betty Blaine. In fact, he was a carpenter and was named Rudolf Blitstein, but he and his wife decided to become a singer, so Rudy changed his name. In the year 1911, Betty and Rudy came to Avonlea. There, Rudy heard Alec King sing. Alec thought about going on tour with them, but decided to stay with his family. Jasper Dale helped Rudy with a song that Alec sang with his daughter Cecily.
